Bangladesh Premier League or simply the BPL has come with the all-new looks. This time, the 7th episode of the tournament is running and total f seven franchise teams have taken part here. The group stage of the tournament is going on but the team Sylhet Thunder has failed to present their good performance. The fans of the team have become frustrated and when they will hear the news, they will be broken. Yes, Sylhet Thunder is eliminated from BPL 2019/20! There is no hope for them right now. The franchise team of Sylhet has just two matches in hand. They have already played ten group stage matches but just able to manage one victory!
The journey of Sylhet Thunder was not good in the 7th season of BPL or Bangabandhu BPL. Though the team has a number of top-rated players which are led by Andre Fletcher. But they could not perform well and the hope has been destroyed.
When we look at their path in the season of BPL, they played the inaugural match of the tournament but faced the very first defeat against Chattogram Challengers. In their 2nd match, Rajshahi Royals beat them by 8 wickets and in the 3rd match, Dhaka Platoon was the winner against them. They just managed one victory by coming to the 5th round in the group stage. Their only prey was Khulna Tigers. It was the first and last out of the ten matches. Now, in the 4th phase of the game which has been taken place in Sylhet, the team of them faced their 9th defeat. The team of Rangpur gave them that.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium earlier yesterday, the match between Rangpur Rangers and Sylhet Thunder took place and the franchise team of Rangpur won by 38 runs.
Sylhet Thunder won the toss but let the Rangers bat first. Based on the destructive batting of Shane Watson, Rangpur scored 199 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs only. Another opener of the team Mohammad Naim added 42 runs so far. Later, the local team Thunder came to chase the score. Their innings ended scoring 161 runs so far. The top scorer of the team was Sherfane Rutherford who scored 60 runs for them. In 19.1 overs, Sylhet Thunder lost all wickets so far. As a result, Sylhet Thunder is eliminated from BPL 2019/20!
