Steve Smith has returned from the banishment. But it seems that he was under another restriction. In the last March 2018, due to the ball-tampering incident, ICC banished him from cricket for one year. It was old news. After the banishment, he returned to the squad in the last World Cup. At the venue of England, he alone stopped England which was an impressive record. He did all the thing but a bad effect was present there. Under his leading, team Australia did the unexpected thing.
So, Cricket Australia saw irresponsibility in him. Though he banished from international cricket for one year but as the skipper, it was two years. In the last Sunday, the two years passed. Now, if Cricket Australia wants and Smith will be ready, then he can be the captain of the team Australia once again. Before the Cape Town test, Australia saw the dream with Steve Smith. Now, they might return the captaincy to the legendary test batsman.
When Smith was absent, Tim Paine got the captaincy and he has done well. But the wicket-keeper is currently 35 years old and Australia needs a young captain who can lead the team for a long time. Smith is there to lead the team. So, it seems that in their next series, Steve Smith might visit Bangladesh as the captain!
