Earlier today, the 4th quarter-final in the Copa America 2019 took place between Uruguay and Peru at the Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador. In the selected times, no teams found the net. So, they faced the penalty shootout. Through the way, Peru beat Uruguay by a 5 – 4 goals and confirmed their ticket into the semi-final. On the way to the final, Peru will face Chile in the semi-final where the last two times Copa America winner Chile confirmed the semi-final ticket by defeating Colombia. They also won by the tie-breaker.
In the first half, Uruguay dominated the ground as well as attacking sectors. In the 25th minute of the game, within a short time, the most successful team missed two good chances of scoring goals. The shot of Luis Suarez was stopped by the Peru goalkeeper successfully and later, Edinson Cavani took the wrong shot. In the tie-breaker, Barca forward Suarez took the first shot of Uruguay but Peru stopper Gallese stopped the first shot. Rest nine players found the net and so, Peru got the victory and promoted to the semi-final.
At the Arena do Gremio, Porto Alegre in the 3rd July 2019, Peru will face the two times Copa America winner Chile.
