After winning the first Test against India, the local team New Zealand thought to whitewash India. Now, their dream has come true. Earlier, New Zealand also whitewashed India in the ODI series and now, the same fate in the Test series as well. The Black Caps won the two matches Test series against India. In the last 29th February 2020, the 2nd Test between them started. Reportedly, New Zealand beat India by 7 wickets in 2nd Test!
At the venue of Christchurch, New Zealand beat India by 7 wickets in 2nd Test! Like the first Test, once again team India faced the batting collapsed in the 2nd match. The local team New Zealand won the toss and let India bat first. So, team India came to open the first innings. Like the 1st match, India’s skipper Kohli once again failed to make longer innings. He added only 3 runs. Prithvi Shaw and Pujara added 54 runs each and the highest scorer was Vihari. He added 55 runs. In the first innings, India scored 242 runs losing all wickets.
Later, Black Caps came to bat for the first innings. The local team also failed to present good score but lost all wickets scoring 235 runs so far. Tom Latham added 52 runs highest.
The 2nd innings was worst for India. They scored only 124 runs. Kohli scored 14 runs so far. Pujara was the top scorer who added 24 runs. Later, New Zealand openers Latham and Blundell came to open their innings and jointly added 103 runs. They led the team near the victory. Losing three wickets, Black Caps chased the given target successfully. As a result, the Black Caps whitewashed India in the long format series reportedly.
It was the last match between these two teams when India travelled New Zealand. Earlier, India whitewashed New Zealand in the T20I series. Now, the local team managed the rest two series victories.
