Like the most of the European league football competitions, Ligue 1 season has been postponed as well. Yes, because of the deadly COVID-19, the Ligue 1 authorities have postponed the season. But for how long they will keep the league stop. It is time to declare a possible date from when the Ligue 1 season will resume it’s journey. Now, earlier today, Ligue de Football Professionnel which is the French football governing body has announced a possible date. Yes, Ligue 1 season will be resumed from next 17th June!
LFP has kept postponing the French football but it cannot be stopped for an unspecified period of time. So, they have finally taken a decision it seems. earlier today, in a meeting, LFP has taken the decision. The season will run from next 17th June to 25th July 2020 as we speak. But they have not confirmed that the matches will be audienceless or as usual. So, there is still confusion about it.
However, LFP has also selected a date for the French Cup final. It will take place between Paris SG and Saint Etienne in next 27th June. Besides, they have also decided to execute the French League Cup final in next 11th July. The match will be between Neymar’s team and Lyon. At first, the LFP decided to resume the French football competitions from 3rd June. But the situation is not under control. And neither it will be a suitable time to restart.
So, Ligue 1 season will be resumed from next 17th June! According to the new decision, the French clubs will not get one week’s gap between the two matches. But they will have to play within just three days. Though the updated schedule has not been released yet. PSG is still holding the top position on the Ligue 1 table. They are 12 points ahead of the 2nd team Marseille right now. So, if the Ligue 1 season will not be able to resume, PSG will get the Ligue 1 trophy easily.
