Due to the deadly Coronavirus, earlier today, through the official website, the South American Football Federation CONMEBOL has revealed the news. They have postponed it for a year.
Like the other events, to reduce the infection, the CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez has taken the decision after discussing with the others. The new schedule says it will start in next 11th June to 11th July 2020. The decision was not easy to take. But still, they have to take the necessary steps to secure their players and the family of South American football. As one of the oldest football competition in the world, Copa America will return in next 2021 with strong and new looks, he added.
The last season of the tournament Copa America took place in the year of 2019. And Brazil was the host nation. The local team won the title by defeating Peru in the final by a 3 – 1 goal.
